I’ve seen multiple portable water bottle brands that come with an insertable water filter. However, I know that with my water pitcher filter at home, it takes a little bit of time for the water to drip down and filter. Is this the case with these portable bottles as well?
Also, none of these brands state which type of filter they sell/use. Does anyone know which manufacturer sells purified, ceramic, or reverse osmosis filters?

I’m looking for something that really works well. A purifier, not just a filter. Something .2 micron (or smaller) and with a built-in way to automatically chemically treat the water (iodine/chlorine etc). There are several on the market and I’m looking for other peoples experiences and opinions. Something that could be used full time for weeks at a time on long trips where your only water source is creeks and lakes and in countries with questionable tap water.

The water is suppose to recycle throughout the system. The dainage plug on the back is free and clear of debris.
I will be traveling to Namibia and I’m looking for a portable water filter. I am clueless on what to look for in buying one.

A few days ago some guy knocked on my door and had all these official looking badges on. Basically, it seemed he claimed he was from some “independent company” sponsored by “GE” to do some drinking water study and surver at no cost and assured me it wasn’t a sales pitch. A few days later, this young hot girl in tight clothes shows up for the “test and survey”. Long story short, she does all these typical BS “water tests” and even goes about cleaning parts of my house with this filtered water she’s getting from a portable filter. All in all she was here like 2 hours before I urged her to leave. Also, she claimed the whole time she was just doing a survey for GE and not selling anything. After I filled out a surver and signed (what I think was the survey) She puts on the sales pitch! Ridiculously high priced filtration system from GE and even gets some “manager” involved on the phone. Obviously I told them to take a hike. However, I’m a little rattled by all this. How can they pose as being from the government or city, and who the heck are these people? The top of the two pieces of paper the ditz left me say “ARS Rescue Rooter”, “GE (symbol)”, and “Water Quality Association”. They wanted like $10,000 for this system! I really hope they didn’t some how trick me when I signed the survey. Like some fine print on the back? I still have the number from the “manager” guy she called from my phone. Anyone else run into anything like this?
